STUDI KETAHANAN BENTURAN PADA KOMPOSIT BERBASIS RAMI DENGAN MATRIKS PVC DAN POLIESTER

Abstract


Rami is one of natural fiber that has high mechanical property. This material have a good potential as an alternative reinforcement material in composite material, especially in prosthesis and others. This research have aimed to analyze the influence of rami, matrix (PVC and Polyester), and the endurance of impact test. Hand Lay-up Method is applied to the fabrication composite. There are three variations of filler form (powder, parallel fiber, and laminate web). The volume fraction that used in this research are 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. From the result, absorbed energy rise when the volume fraction is increased and it is occur in both of composite. In general, composite Rami-PVC has better impact energy absorption than composite Rami-Polyester
