SPECIAL TOOL VALVE SPRING PUSHER DESIGN ON CYLINDER HEAD
ENGINE WITH DC MOTOR DRIVE
The engine is designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy. One part of the engine is the cylinder head, where in the cylinder head there is a valve component. Valve system is a system that functions to open and close channels which are generally equipped with springs. This study aims to design, manufacture and use special tools for the process of disassembling and installing valves on the cylinder head because the work takes a long time and has several risks of major work accidents. The method used is planning, implementation and review at the Balikpapan State Polytechnic workshop. The results obtained are in the form of a special tool valve spring pusher that uses a 2 ton mechanical screw jack with a spring valve pressure of 212 kg. A torque of 11.25 Nm is required to compress the load and 4.2 Nm to release the load. Gear ratio to increase torque on electric motors is 22.2. The resulting time efficiency is 34.32% and safety analysis is 18.18%.
