PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI ALAT BERAT GURU SMK DI BALIKPAPAN DAN PENAJAM PASER UTARA

Abstract


Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan (PKM Poltekba) tahun 2023. Sasaran mitra kegiatan PKM adalah guru SMK Program Studi (Prodi) Alat Berat di Balikpapan dan Penajam Paser Utara. Banyaknya industri alat berat di wilayah Balikpapan dan Penajam Paser Utara menjadi peluang untuk SMK membuka Prodi Alat Berat. Tetapi minimnya jumlah guru SMK yang memiliki kompetensi bidang alat berat menjadi kendala dalam transfer keilmuan kepada siswa. Kondisi ini berdampak juga terhadap kurangnya pemakaian alat praktek terkait alat berat. Oleh karena itu dilakukan pelatihan kompetensi alat berat, khususnya terkait Powershift Transmission Komatsu HD 785-7. Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama 4 hari dengan pemberian materi secara teori selama 1 hari dan pelaksanaan praktek selama 3 hari. Pelatihan diikuti sebanyak 9 orang peserta yang merupakan guru SMK Prodi Alat Berat. Penilaian keberhasilan pelatihan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner didapatkan bahwa pelatihan (meliputi materi, narasumber dan layanan panitia) dan penggunaan ruang teori telah bernilai baik. Tetapi terkait waktu pelaksanaan dan sarana prasarana praktek perlu ditingkatkan.

ABSTRACT

This article was prepared based on Community Service Program of Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan (PKM Poltekba) in 2023. Target partners for PKM activities are vocational school teachers from the Program Study of Heavy Equipment in Balikpapan and Penajam Paser Utara. The large number of heavy equipment industries in the Balikpapan and Penajam Paser Utara areas is an opportunity for Vocational Schools to open a Program Study of Heavy Equipment. However, the limited number of vocational school teachers who have competence of heavy equipment is an obstacle in transferring knowledge to students. This condition also has an impact on the lack of use of practical equipment of heavy equipment. Therefore, heavy equipment competency training was carried out, especially regarding the Powershift Transmission of Komatsu HD 785-7. The training was carried out for 4 days with theoretical material being provided for 1 day and practical implementation for 3 days. The training was attended by 9 participants who were Heavy Equipment Vocational School teachers. Assessment of training success was carried out using a questionnaire. Based on results of questionnaire, it was found that training (including materials, resource persons and committee services) and use of the theory room were of good value. However, regarding implementation time and practical infrastructure, it needs to be improved.
