Abstract

ABSTRACT

Sexual harassment is a serious problem that needs to be addressed in classrooms in many parts of the world. Although some research has looked at how sexual harassment affects students' performance and behavior, little research has explored how it can change their sense of who they are or their moral compass. So, the researchers explored the intersection between sexual harassment in higher education and internal factors such as student personality and moral disengagement. Forty-three students represented all higher education institutions in Balikpapan City, Indonesia, for this research. This research involved 403 students from all state and private universities in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. We tested the influence of each variable using structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The research results reveal that sexual harassment is directly influenced by personality and moral disengagement. The findings of this research provide important implications for analyzing and recognizing internal factors that influence sexual harassment, especially among academics in higher education. Key words:

Keywords: sexual harassment, personality, morals
