PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATA KULIAH PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGARAAN DI PROGRAM STUDI TEKNIK MESIN ALAT BERAT POLITEKNIK BALIKPAPAN

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan di Program studi Teknik Mesin Alat Berat Politeknik Balikpapan.Masalah pokok  penelitian ini adalah bagaimana meningkatkan partisipasi mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan dan meningkatkan kreatifitas mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah.Untuk itu ditawarkan solusi dengan menggunakan metode Problem Based Learning.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan mutu hasil pembelajaran.Berdasarkan kajian pustaka tersebut maka hipotesis tindakan dalam penelitian ini  dapat dirumuskan : . Pembelajaran dengan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan mahasiswa Politeknik Balikpapan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa semester genap 2009/2010 program studi Teknik Mesin Alat Berat selama 4 bulan.Faktor yang diteliti adalah mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Dalam pelaksanaan tindakan di kelas peneliti bertindak sebagai pengajar sekaligus sebagai pengamat.Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus.hasil tindakan dalam suatu siklus yang berupa keaktifan dan kreatifitas mahasiswa dan hasil belajarnya dievaluasi sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam merencanakan tindakan selanjutnya. Sedangkan indikator kualitas hasil belajar dapat diamati dari makin meningkatnya nilai rata-rata tes/quis, tugas dan nilai ujian. Berdasarkan temuan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning  dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa memecahkan masalah Hak Asasi Manusia dalam pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan pada mahasiswa Politeknik Balikpapan.

ABSTRACT

This research purposes to analyze the implementation of problem based learning model to increase the study result of civic education on Heavy Equipment study program in Polytechnic of Balikpapan. Main problem of this research is how to increase participants from students in study process of civic education subject and increase student’s creativity in solving problem, that’s why, offered the solution by using problem based learning method. The purpose of this research is to increase the quality of study result. Base on the literary review, so the action hypothesis can be concluded. The study with problem based learning model is able to increase the study result of civic education subject in Polytechnic of Balikpapan. This research is done in for students in even semester in Heavy Equipment study program for 4 months. The factors analyzed are students studying. The action in the class, the researcher acts as lecturer and as observer. The action research of this class is done in 2 cycles which are the activity and creativity of the students and the study result is evaluated as consideration matter in planning the next action. While the indicator of study result quality can be observed from increasing of average mark of test, task, and exam score. Base on finding of this research result can be conclude that problem based learning model is able to increase the capability of students in solving problem of human right in civic education to Polytechnic of Balikpapan students.
