TANTANGAN PENERAPAN CLEANLINESS, HEALTH, SAFETY, DAN ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY (CHSE) DI DEPARTEMEN FRONT OFFICE BLUE SKY HOTEL BALIKPAPAN DALAM RANGKA PENCEGAHAN PENYEBARAN COVID-19

Abstract


Penyebaran COVID-19 meluluhlantahkan sektor pariwisata, terutama industri perhotelan. Untuk menyelamatkan industri perhotelan yang mengalami penurunan pendapatan, Kemenparekraf RI mencanangkan protokol kesehatan Cleanliness, Health, Safety, dan Environment Sustainability (CHSE) yang memberikan jaminan kebersihan, kesehatan dan keselamatan agar tamu tetap dapat berkunjung ke hotel dengan aman dan nyaman. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tantangan yang dihadapi oleh Departemen Front Office Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan beserta berbagai upaya yang telah dilakukan oleh untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Departemen Front Office Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan telah menerapkan protokol kesehatan Cleanliness, Health, Safety, dan Environment Sustainability (CHSE). Namun, masih terdapat berbagai kendala yang menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Beberapa contohnya yaitu, terbentuknya kerumunan tamu pada saat Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan sedang ramai dan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) yang mengurangi kinerja karyawan di Departemen Front Office Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan.

THE CHALLENGES OF IMPLEMENTING CLEANLINESS, HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY (CHSE) AT FRONT OFFICE DEPARTMENT OF BLUE SKY HOTEL BALIKPAPAN IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

The spread of COVID-19 has devastated the tourism sector, especially the hotel industry. To save the hotel industry, which is experiencing a decline in revenue, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has launched the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) health protocol which guarantees cleanliness, health and safety so the guest can visit the hotel safely and comfortably. The purpose of this research is to find out the challenges faced by the Front Office Department of Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan and the various efforts that have been made to overcome these challenges. This research used qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach and the data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research prove that the Front Office Department of Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan has implemented the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) health protocol. However, there are still various obstacles that being a challenges for Front Office Department of Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan itself. Some examples are, the formation of a crowd of guests when Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan is busy and the use of Personal Protective Equipment which is reduces employee performance in the Front Office Department of Blue Sky Hotel Balikpapan.
